Having worked with The Scala Group on introducing and embedding a new approach to talent identification and development, I have no doubt their contribution and commitment over and above what was asked for has been a significant contributor to the re-energised environment around development in the NDA. Janice Caplan’s personal dedication to creating something new, innovative and most importantly fit for purpose makes The Scala Group stand out from the rest of other HR consultants and development specialists. The result of our work a new approach to behavioural capability development, self led learning and succession planning. We see this work as being able to provide a foundation for the NDA, which it can use in a number of ways to respond to the changing business pressures it will face. Having the opportunity for this work to be recognised at an international level at the HRD Conference 2008 was the icing on the cake and is a credit to The Scala Group.

The success of our work at the NDA led to us being asked to assist the Radioactive Waste Management Division in engaging all staff in the development of their new business strategy. The insight and advice from Janice Caplan of Scala, obtained from interviews with staff, made sure our ‘Shaping the Future’ workshop addressed the real issues on peoples’ minds. The extensive preparation ahead of the workshop was a major contributor to its success.
